Branch Team Lead - Ferndale

The Branch Team Lead (Head Teller) delivers member value by assuring that Teller activity and the management of cash and related operational issues are efficient and effective. This position requires exceptional member service skills, product and service knowledge, attention to detail and adherence to operations policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Balance vault cash and related items (money orders, traveler's checks, etc.) nightly.
Orders and maintains appropriate inventory of cash and related items. Ensure that appropriate data or other information is accurately entered into any cash management system the credit union may have in operation.
Balances and replenishes ATM's.
Ensure that all appropriate staff handles cash according to security and audit procedures.
Ensure that cash and other assets not in use are properly secured at all times.
Assist employees with out-of-balance conditions.
Disburse cash and cash-related items to teller staff.
Conduct various audits as requested by the supervisor.
Maintain Cash Manual, forms, reports, and controls to improve departmental and branch efficiency.
Maintain a teller window and perform duties and tasks of a Teller as member service and staffing levels
require or as assigned by the Branch Manager.
Answers incoming branch telephone calls and provides member service via the telephone.
Ensures established operational and compliance processes relating to cash and cash handling are complied with and are consistently executed by all employees.
Reports on the overall compliance on an individual and aggregate level.
Works with the supervisor to address staff performance deficiencies by providing timely notice of such deficiencies and offers recommendations related to disciplinary action.
Assists with Teller training.
Monitors the day-to-day processes and activities of tellers
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), Associates degree preferred
Minimum of two-years of supervisory experience in financial services or retail that includes a strong record of cash management or cash handling.
Strong computer skills.
Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Carries themselves in a professional manner.
Preference will be given to prior financial services and/ or sales experience. Background checks are required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
