Director of Operations

GENERAL SUMMARY:   Reporting to the Administrator Behavioral Health Services, the Hospital Administrator plans, directs, and monitors the day to day operation and activities of the hospital, consistent with the mission, vision and values of HFHS. The role assists in the development of and is responsible for fulfilling the goals, objectives, plans and policies required to achieve stated performance targets. The role will ensure the establishment of an effective leadership system (team) built upon a collaborative culture of transparency and trust in which all staff are engaged in continuous improvement. This individual ensures successful execution of a culture of Service Excellence, Quality, and Safety initiatives.       PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   Plans, directs, coordinates, monitors and evaluates all non-medical staff activities of the Hospital. Participates in external relations activities intended to establish and maintain attitudes of confidence, respect and support for the organization on the part of various entities that interface with the Hospital. Assumes an active role on the executive leadership team, the medical executive committee, the P&T committee, etc. Consistent with the strategic plan, seeks and capitalizes on new business development opportunities for improving or expanding the hospital's services in response to the needs of the community and the patients served. Leads and participates in the development of objectives, policies and operating plans that address organization operations, human resources, financial performance and growth. Directs hospital operations to achieve expected results within established budgetary constraints. Appraises and evaluates business and operations results regularly and systematically, and reports these results to the Administrator. Analyzes the operating results of the hospital relative to established objectives and ensures that appropriate steps are taken to correct deviations. Ensures hospital compliance with all regulations governing health care delivery and rules of accrediting bodies by continually monitoring the operations of the hospital and proposing changes when required. Ensures the availability of trained and competent personnel for the operation of the hospital. Pursues a continuous self-development program by keeping informed of changes to health-related legislation, developments in leadership theory and practices, improvements in health care delivery systems, and so forth. Passionately participates in, supports and utilizes service excellence and process improvement principles in leadership activities.   EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:   Master's degree in Hospital Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field is required. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
