Unit Secretary

Position Summary: The Unit Secretary performs nonprofessional activities to assist the Registered Nurse in caring for patients and works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. Assists with
the clerical and hostess functions of the nursing unit; transcribes physician orders; maintains records, schedules patient test, expedites messages; orders and checks supplies; reports needed repairs.



  • Education - high school graduate or equivalent
  • Must have medical terminology knowledge
  • Must have previous experience with computers and data entry/typing/keyboarding skills
  • One year medical clerical experience


  • Evidence of successful completion of a clerk-nursing or comparable education

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
