What you will do:
The Safety SalesSpecialist drives and supports the sale of safety products serving as a subjectmatter expert to both internal and external customers. The Sales Specialist isdirectly responsible for developing and executing regional company specificsafety product marketing and sales growth plans through direct sales andcollaboration with internal sales partners.
Your responsibilities:
Responsiblefor increasing sales and profit margins by presenting the company's varioussafety products to new prospects and existing customers by both explaining anddemonstrating Airgas' products and services further emphasizing the benefitsmatched to customer need.
Developsand implements customer specific training and marketing plans by studying thetype of safety product/equipment and volume used by customers/prospectsdepending on industry or trade factor.
Recommendsproducts and services by evaluating sales results, competitive developments,and discussions with vendors.
Actsas a resource for other Airgas sales professionals in developing andmaintaining safety product sales within their customer base by providingproduct and industry training, making customer presentations andrecommendations.
Monitorscompetition by establishing a process for gathering current marketplaceinformation on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules,merchandising techniques, market trends, etc.
Keepsmanagement informed by maintaining and submitting activity and results reports(daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territoryanalyses) as required.
Utilizesall necessary sales and marketing literature to promote the Airgas initiative.
Maintainsand upgrades selling skills and technical/product knowledge through requiredtraining and self-directed research and learning.
Otherprojects/duties as assigned.

What you will need:
Bachelor'sdegree in Business or related field. In lieu of degree, consideration for up to4 years of additional sales specificexperience may be considered.
3years of prior outside sales experience preferably within the industrial andsafety sales field.
QualifiedSafety Sales Professional (QSPP) certification preferred.
Demonstratedrelationship management and consultative selling aptitude with the ability toproblem-solve and devise solutions for the customer.
Abilityto target accounts and achieve results through an action plan.
Abilityto build effective relationships with all levels and roles both within Airgasand outside the organization.
Strongproblem solving and analytical skills with a thorough understanding offinancial accounting terms and principals including margin, profit, cost, andrate of return.
Communicateseffectively both verbally and in writing; listens effectively and clarifiesinformation as needed; works well with others in a cross-functional teamenvironment across the organization knowing who to engage to achieve results.Uses candor and sensitivity in their dealings with others.
Excellentorganizational and time management skills to include the ability to multi-taskand effectively manage projects in a diverse organization.
Strongcomputer skill to include proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word,Excel) as well as a working knowledge of SAP.
Abilityto work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
Self-motivatedwith effective organizational/time-management skills.
Frequentregional travel (up to 75% of work time).
Minimalovernight travel.
Reliabletransportation, current driver's license, minimum liability insurance asrequired by state of vehicle registration.
Livesby Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations, procedureswhich are applicable to this position's responsibilities.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
